What to expect when you come to LuLu’s for a Brazilian wax. (Besides fabulous service and a whole lot of fun!) 

LuLu knows it can be intimidating to book a Brazilian wax, so she works hard to make you feel at ease and not at all awkward. Your comfort and peace of mind are LuLu’s top priority. She’s super clean, super efficient and super fun and there’s never ever any double dipping at LuLu’s. You deserve the best and with LuLu’s 20 years of experience you will literally be in good hands. 

First things first! Please park your car either across the street from LuLu’s or directly in front of her house. Her clients aren’t allowed to park in front of her neighbour’s homes due to her city of Calgary Business licensing guidelines. 

XXXXXXXXX Come to LuLu’s front door at your appointment time and ring the doorbell. LuLu will greet you and take you to her cute little studio. LuLu’s is just LuLu so if you arrive early please wait in your car. If you come to the door early and LuLu is with another client she can’t leave them to answer the door and then you are going to think she ghosted you and THAT would be awful!  XXXXXXXX   I might change this to I will text you when it’s ready for you to come to the door. It’s just then that people can text to change or book an appointment and I really want to be on one platform. Now I’m checking my phone, Instagram messages, my cell and FB messages. If someone is going to be late they never call so I have to check a million different places online. We can maybe chat more about this?  XXXXXXXXX

Once you are in LuLu’s studio she will have you fill out and sign a new client waiver, compete with an after wax care guide, or if you are a returning client there is a quick returning client waiver to sign. (LuLu has you sign a waiver every time you come because you never know if people’s creams, lotions or medications have changed since the last visit.)

LuLu will then show you to the washroom where you can freshen up for your appointment with unscented wipes that LuLu provides. She has all the instructions posted so you will know exactly what to do. You have the option of removing all your clothes from the waist down and wrapping a big fluffy white towel around you and returning to the room (which is right next door) OR you can undress in LuLu’s room. It’s honestly up to you. LuLu doesn’t mind either way. 
LuLu will then have you lay on your back and place your legs in a “butterfly” position, which means your knees are out to the side and the soles of your feet are together. LuLu is a fast waxer but if you need support under your upper thighs LuLu has towels just for this purpose. If you have never experienced hard wax before LuLu will demo a bit on the back of your hand so you will know what it feels like.

LuLu will then assess your skin, prep it with the proper products and start the waxing process. She always starts from the outside working in. So, this would look like starting on the inner thighs and the top of the bikini line. LuLu likes to apply as many strips as possible to make the best use of the time allotted for your appointment. Once the hair is all gone from your entire bikini area, she will do the back. YES, that’s included in a Brazilian wax but it’s super easy and doesn’t hurt at all. She will then have you hug your knees up to chest, prep the skin, and remove all the hair from around your little star fish! After that she will have you lay flat on the bed on your back, and she will double check for any stray hairs that might have been left behind. These clean up strips are painless since there’s only a few strays per strip applied. 

And that’s it!!! You will look a bit like a plucked chicken but that is 100% normal. Everyone’s skin bumps up like that. It will dissipate in 24 hours if not sooner. 

You can also add a booty wax (your other cheeks!) full tummy wax, lower back wax or extended thigh wax to your service! LuLu also does brow waxing too but is unable to do anything that would be under your mask at this time.

Then you rebook you next appointment for four – five weeks! Oh, and if you haven’t had a Brazilian before the first one is the ouchiest. THEN if you book again on schedule, it’s a lot less ouchie. But once you get to six weeks it’s ouchie all over again. Darn.
